Problems we're called in for
These aren't fixed packages — every situation is scoped on its own. But most engagements fall into one of these shapes.
Operational breakdowns
Facilities running over budget, processes nobody's questioned in years, cost sitting in places no one's looked. We go department by department, find where the money's actually going, and cut what shouldn't be there.
Finance and systems clean-up
A finance department that's grown messy or fragmented across entities, records that need centralising, or an ERP migration that needs someone who's actually run one before, not learning on your dime. We take ownership of the clean-up and the transition, end to end.
Negotiations and pricing
Supplier contracts that crept up over time, a lease or vendor deal that no longer makes sense, terms nobody's pushed back on since they were signed. We take the seat across the table and renegotiate for better pricing, or work out the most viable way to exit if the deal's beyond saving.
Stalled or damaged relationships
An internal conflict that's paralyzing decisions. We step in as a neutral party who can get things unstuck without either side losing face.
Parting ways with an employee
An employee who isn't working out, a role that's disappeared, a relationship that's broken down beyond repair. We're not labour lawyers, and we bring one in when the process requires it — but we handle the conversation itself, and manage the process end to end so it happens fairly, professionally, and with dignity for everyone involved.
Fraud and internal incidents
A trusted employee or director did something that's put the business at risk, and the shock of finding out has stalled every decision that needs to happen next. We're not forensic auditors or criminal attorneys — we bring those in fast when they're needed — but we're often the first call, because someone has to keep the business running while it's being sorted out.
Situations that need to stay quiet — for the right reasons
Handled directly, under confidentiality from the first conversation, without a paper trail longer than it needs to be. Discretion here means protecting a business through a sensitive moment — not hiding something that shouldn't be hidden.
Being in two places at once
A site visit, a project meeting, a negotiation you can't attend in person because you're closing something else at the same time. We stand in on your behalf, follow the brief you give us, and report back the same day with exactly what happened and what you need to know — so nothing stalls just because you couldn't be in two places at once.
Retainer clients
If the kind of problem on this page tends to recur for you, or speed of response matters more than anything else, we take on a small number of clients on a standing retainer rather than case by case. Retainer clients get priority access and a fixer who already knows the business before the call comes in.
That's a perfectly good reason to start the conversation. Tell us what's going on and we'll help you work out the right scope.
